Key Connections Ministries

Pictured here is a coop, perimeter fence, and chickens which makes up the parts of the chicken project. We have constructed and installed 10 of these in the remote bush areas around Arusha. The purpose is to provide a micro-business opportunity for widows and orphans. We partner with national pastors who know which widows could best benefit and know how to train the widows to properly care for the chickens. For $400 a widow can receive training, a coop, fencing, and chickens to provide much needed income.

Goats are an important part of providing needed milk and meat for Maasai families. Many times a struggling Maasai widow is too poor to buy goats. We have helped in providing over 50 goats of needy widows. Each widow receives two goats and the first kid (baby goat) produced goes to another needy widow. So by purchasing two goats for $100 a widow can greatly improve her family's chances for survival. 

The Proclaimers are currently coming to us without cost; however, we feel it important to protect the unit by providing a carrying case. The cases are made from a sturdy canvas-like material with velcro closures and carrying straps. With the cost of material, strapping, D rings, velcro, sewing labor, and operating manual printing we are investing around $10 per unit. We are projecting the release of another 200 units in 2010. The FlipChart/Saber Set is a combination of nine flipcharts, a Saber player unit, an operating manual, and cases. By the time one of these sets are fully assembled and ready for release, it can cost as much as $100.
